Assistant Buyer

As an Assistant Buyer you will largely work under the supervision of our Senior Buyer, striving to ensure that all materials are purchased in a cost effective and timely manner to ensure the smooth running of our Production facility.

This role would suit somebody who has previously worked in a purchasing or sales role in either an electronics or component distributor company.

Specific Duties

  • Obtaining detailed quotations for electronic components and evaluating competing bids based on pricing and timescale.
  • Managing spreadsheets of component requirements for products.
  • Entering details on our in-house databases.
  • Placing and progressing of Purchase Orders.
  • Updating product costing models.
  • Ensuring Supplier database is kept up to date.

Essential Experience, Capabilities & Qualifications

5 GCSE's or equivalent including English and Mathematics.
Clear, efficient and friendly telephone manner.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
A keen eye for detail and quality of company presentation.
Ability to work well under pressure in order to meet tight time-scales.
Competent with all Office applications including spreadsheets and email.

Desirable Experience

Previous electronic component purchasing or internal sales role for a component distributor.
