The role of Production Controller reports on a day to day basis to the Operations Director.
Specific duties will include:
- Daily Production Meetings
Responsible for organising and holding daily production meetings with key staff, from all assembly departments, including Front End and Sales.
- Weekly Production Meetings
In the absence of the Operations Director, organising and chairing weekly planning and production meetings.
Responsible for the smooth flow of assembly work through all areas of production, including Stores, SMT, PTH, Mechanical, Inspection, AOI Inspection, Test and Dispatch.
Having regular contact with both Front End Engineering, Sales and Purchasing departments to keep the flow of work through the business.
Reviewing/investigating and adjustment of monthly ‘on time delivery’ figures and distribution to customers.
Assisting the Operations Director with the generating of KPI’s for all production departments.
Monitoring of production KPI’s along with the Operations Director.
- Organisation of Assembly Overtime
In conjunction with the Operations Director, identifying and justifying overtime requirements throughout all assembly departments, in order to achieve customer deadlines.
Upon approval by the Operations Director, liaising with the relevant Team Leaders / departments to organise the overtime.
- Supervision of Assembly personnel
Allocating work to assembly, ensuring all personnel have work to do on a daily basis, holding regular meetings to ensure personnel are aware of current and future workloads and timescales.
Ensuring the Operations Director is kept informed of any personnel issues on a daily basis. During the absence of the Operations Director any such issues must be brought to the attention of the Financial Director.
Ensuring that all staff are following and complying with ESD guidelines in all departments.
- Production Planning
Allocating resources to new jobs and scheduling thereof using the “capacity planner”.
- Recruitment of Assembly Personnel
In conjunction with the Operations Director, reviewing CV’s, interviewing, carrying out practical tests for potential candidates and reporting back to the Financial Director ahead of job offers being made.
- Efficiency Improvement
As part of the production control role and working with the Operations Director, you will be responsible for the improvement of efficiencies throughout all areas of manufacturing, ensuring that product is produced on time and in the most cost effective manner and without any compromise to quality.
